Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Laundry Attendant to join our hotel service team on a casual day roster. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction that Rydges Hotels & Resorts is known for. As a Laundry Attendant, you will be responsible for processing all hotel linen, ensuring it is impeccably clean, fresh, and readily available for our rooms and various departments. This position offers flexible hours within a day roster, perfect for those seeking work-life balance in a dynamic hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold all hotel linen, including towels, bedding, and uniforms.
- Operate and maintain commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect linen for stains or damage, ensuring only high-quality items are returned to service.
- Organize and store clean linen in designated areas, maintaining proper inventory levels.
- Deliver clean linen to various hotel departments as required.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and procedures.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with other housekeeping duties as needed to support overall hotel operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good time management skills to ensure timely processing of linen.
- Reliability and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Basic understanding of laundry processes and equipment operation (training provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel laundry or similar commercial laundry environment.
- Knowledge of various fabric types and appropriate washing techniques.
