Job Description
Are you passionate about horses but lack professional experience? This is an incredible opportunity to launch your career in the equine industry with Darley Australia. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual for an Entry Level Equine Groom position. No prior experience is required, as we offer comprehensive, hands-on training to equip you with all the skills needed to excel. You will learn the fundamentals of horse care, stable management, and equine welfare from our experienced team, working directly with some of the finest thoroughbreds in the country. This role is perfect for someone eager to learn, physically fit, and committed to providing the highest standard of care to our horses.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily feeding and watering of horses under supervision.
- Learn and perform stable duties, including mucking out stalls, maintaining bedding, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Groom horses thoroughly, including brushing, washing, and preparing them for exercise or turnout.
- Observe horses for any signs of illness, injury, or behavioral changes and report promptly to senior staff.
- Assist with tacking up and untacking horses for exercise or treatments.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of tack rooms, feed rooms, and other stable areas.
- Support senior grooms and trainers with horse handling during veterinary visits or farrier appointments.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and animal welfare protocols.
- Actively participate in all provided training programs and seek opportunities for continuous learning.
