Job Description
Are you an enthusiastic Electrical Engineering student eager to apply your academic knowledge in a practical, real-world setting? AECOM is offering an exciting internship opportunity for a motivated Electrical Student Intern in our Braddon office. This role is designed to provide invaluable hands-on experience, allowing you to work alongside experienced engineers and gain essential industry hours towards your professional development. You will contribute to various stages of electrical infrastructure projects, learning best practices in design, documentation, and project delivery within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior electrical engineers with project tasks, including calculations, design layouts, and technical specifications.
- Conduct research on relevant electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Prepare and update technical drawings using CAD software under supervision.
- Support the creation of project documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Participate in site visits and inspections to gain practical insights into construction and installation processes.
- Learn and apply AECOM's project methodologies and quality assurance procedures.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated project solutions.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles, circuit theory, and power systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn, proactive attitude, and ability to work effectively in a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation.
- Prior exposure to electrical design tools or simulation software.
- A strong academic record demonstrating commitment to your studies.
- Previous experience in a project-based environment (academic or personal).
