Job Description
Are you a budding UI Designer eager to kickstart your career and make a real impact? Suncorp Group is offering an exciting UI Design Intern position focused on App Interface Mentorship within our dynamic digital product team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced corporate environment, working on real-world mobile application projects under the guidance of experienced design mentors. You will contribute to the visual design, user experience, and overall usability of our customer-facing applications, learning industry best practices and innovative design methodologies. This role is perfect for someone passionate about user interfaces, attention to detail, and a desire to learn and grow within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior UI designers in creating intuitive and aesthetically pleasing user interfaces for mobile applications.
- Contribute to the development of design systems, style guides, and UI component libraries.
- Participate in design critiques and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Prepare design assets and specifications for development teams.
- Conduct basic user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure design consistency and feasibility.
- Stay updated with the latest UI trends, tools, and technologies.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of UI design principles, typography, color theory, and layout
- Familiarity with design software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
- A portfolio (even student projects) demonstrating an interest in UI/UX design
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field
- Experience with prototyping tools
- Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS)
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
