Job Description
We are urgently seeking motivated and reliable Demolition Hands for casual day shifts in Footscray, Victoria. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexible work, competitive pay, and the chance to be part of a dynamic team on various demolition projects. You will be instrumental in assisting with the safe and efficient demolition of structures, following strict safety protocols and working under the guidance of experienced supervisors. While previous experience is a plus, a strong work ethic, physical fitness, and a commitment to safety are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the safe and efficient demolition of residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools as required for demolition tasks.
- Sort and clear debris, waste, and recyclable materials from the work site.
- Load and unload materials and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations and company policies.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Assist skilled tradespersons and machine operators as directed.
- Perform general laboring duties as required on various demolition sites.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong understanding and commitment to site safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools.
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card) for working on construction sites in Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in demolition, construction, or a similar labor-intensive role.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience operating specific power tools relevant to demolition.
- Forklift license or other plant operation tickets.
- Current driver's license and reliable transport.
