Job Description

Kiewit Corporation is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as Road Flagging Assistants in Portland, OR. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive training to ensure your success. This role is crucial for maintaining safety and efficient traffic flow around our construction sites, protecting both our workers and the public. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and effectively direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction work zones.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with fellow flaggers, construction crews, and the public using standard hand signals and verbal commands.
  • Set up and maintain temporary traffic control devices, including signs, cones, and barricades, according to safety regulations and site plans.
  • Monitor traffic patterns and adjust flagging procedures as needed to ensure continuous safety.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and local traffic control regulations.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to a supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve project goals.

Required Skills

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
