Job Description

Are you passionate about pets and looking for a rewarding part-time role? Petbarn Wyong is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Grooming Offsider to join our professional grooming team. This role is perfect for someone who loves dogs, is eager to learn, and wants to contribute to a positive grooming experience for our furry clients. You will provide essential support to our experienced groomers, ensuring the salon runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist professional dog groomers with bathing, drying, and general preparation of dogs for grooming.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised grooming salon, including sanitising equipment and work areas.
  • Handle dogs with care and compassion, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process.
  • Monitor animal behaviour and report any concerns to the senior groomer.
  • Greet customers and assist with check-ins and check-outs, providing excellent customer service.
  • Help manage appointment schedules and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Perform light administrative tasks as needed.

Required Skills

  • Genuine love for animals, especially dogs, and a compassionate approach to their care.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Physical stamina to handle dogs of various sizes and perform duties that involve standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Availability for a part-time day roster, including weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a pet care, animal handling, or customer service role.
  • Knowledge of basic dog breeds and grooming techniques.
  • Current Pet First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
