Job Description
Join the Cotton On Group team in Rockhampton as a Fashion Student Intern focusing on Sample Management! This paid internship offers a unique opportunity for a motivated fashion student to gain hands-on experience in the retail fashion industry. You will play a crucial role in managing the lifecycle of product samples, ensuring our teams have the right materials for merchandising, marketing, and quality control. This is an excellent chance to learn the operational backbone of a major fashion retailer and contribute to our visual merchandising and product presentation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and organize incoming product samples from various departments and suppliers.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sample inventory system, tracking locations and status.
- Prepare samples for photography, marketing campaigns, visual merchandising, and internal review meetings.
- Coordinate the movement of samples between departments, ensuring timely delivery and collection.
- Assist with quality checks and visual inspections of samples, reporting any discrepancies.
- Ensure samples are stored efficiently and maintained in pristine condition.
- Support the broader visual merchandising and product teams with administrative tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Fashion Design, Merchandising, Retail Management, or related program.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A keen interest in the fashion industry and product lifecycle management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with inventory management systems (even basic ones).
- Understanding of retail fashion operations and merchandising principles.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
