Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Aquaculture Labourer to join our coastal fish farm team in Bakewell, Northern Territory. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, have a strong work ethic, and are keen to learn about sustainable aquaculture practices. You will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our fish farm, ensuring the health and well-being of our aquatic stock and the smooth running of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily feeding of fish and other aquatic species according to schedules and protocols.
- Assist with the cleaning, maintenance, and repair of tanks, ponds, nets, and other farm equipment.
- Monitor water quality parameters and report any irregularities to supervisors.
- Participate in the harvesting, grading, and sorting of fish.
- Help with the transfer and handling of aquatic stock, ensuring minimal stress.
- Conduct routine checks on farm infrastructure, ensuring safety and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of feeding, water quality, and stock health.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and biosecurity regulations and procedures.
- Support other farm duties as required by the farm management team.
