Job Description
Are you passionate about animals and eager to kickstart a career in pet care? Petstock Werribee is seeking a enthusiastic Dog Grooming Offsider to join our professional grooming salon. This entry-level position is perfect for someone looking to learn the ropes of professional dog grooming, animal handling, and salon operations from experienced professionals. You’ll work alongside our senior groomers, providing essential support and developing valuable skills in a fun, fast-paced environment. No prior grooming experience is required – just a genuine love for dogs, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior groomers with bathing, drying, and brushing dogs of all breeds and sizes.
- Learn and practice basic grooming techniques under direct supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organised grooming salon, including washing towels, sterilising tools, and tidying work areas.
- Ensure the comfort and safety of all animals in our care.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pet's needs and grooming services.
- Handle scheduling and booking appointments as needed.
- Adhere to all safety and hygiene protocols.
Required Skills
- Genuine love and empathy for animals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Physical stamina to handle dogs of various sizes and perform duties that involve standing, bending, and lifting.
