Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Surveying Field Assistant to join our dynamic team in Tully, Queensland. You will work alongside experienced surveyors, assisting in the collection of crucial data for a variety of infrastructure and development projects. Key Responsibilities
- Assist surveyors with setting up and operating surveying equipment (GPS, total stations, levels).
- Clear vegetation and obstacles to ensure clear line of sight for surveying instruments.
- Place survey markers, stakes, and flags accurately.
- Carry and transport equipment to and from various field locations.
- Maintain accurate field notes and data records under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures on all job sites.
- Perform basic calculations and measurements as directed.
- Assist with equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Travel to various project sites, often in remote or regional areas.
Required Skills
- Strong physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Valid Australian driver's license.
- Willingness to travel frequently for extended periods.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in outdoor work, construction, or a physically demanding role.
- First Aid certification.
- White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
- Basic knowledge of surveying principles or equipment.
