Job Description
Join GrainCorp as a Seasonal Silo Labourer in Footscray and play a crucial role in the upcoming grain harvest. You will be instrumental in the safe and efficient receival, storage, and dispatch of various grain commodities, contributing to Australia’s vital agricultural sector. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate grain receival equipment, including weighbridges, augers, and conveyors.
- Assist with the sampling, testing, and classification of grain to ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning of grain storage facilities, including silos, bunkers, and sheds.
- Monitor grain quality and conditions, reporting any issues or anomalies.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, operational procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Support the loading and unloading of trucks and trains with various grain products.
- Work effectively as part of a team to achieve daily operational targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working at heights.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and following procedures.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (heat, dust, etc.).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Australian driver's license and reliable transport.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agriculture, logistics, or a similar industrial environment.
- Forklift license (LF) or willingness to obtain one.
- Experience operating heavy machinery.
- First Aid certificate.
