Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Scrum Master to join our dynamic agile teams in Perth. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with foundational knowledge of agile principles and a passion for continuous improvement, looking to kick-start their career in a supportive and collaborative environment. As a Junior Scrum Master, you will play a crucial role in facilitating agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and helping our development teams achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support the Product Owner in maintaining the product backlog.
  • Coach the development team in self-organization and cross-functionality.
  • Help the team resolve impediments and protect them from external distractions.
  • Promote a culture of transparency, inspection, and adaptation.
  • Assist in tracking and communicating team progress and sprint metrics.
  • Learn and apply various agile techniques and frameworks under guidance.
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and stakeholders to improve agile practices across the organization.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of the Scrum framework and Agile principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proactive and eager to learn.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude.
  • Familiarity with project management or agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) certification (even if recently obtained or currently pursuing).
  • Experience in a team leadership or coordination role (even in non-professional settings).
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of scaling agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS) is a plus.
  • Experience with remote collaboration tools.
