Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Scrap Sorter to join our team in Gladstone, QLD. This entry-level position is crucial to our operations, involving the accurate identification and sorting of various scrap metals within a heavy industrial setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and efficient processing of materials, contributing directly to our recycling efforts. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately identify and separate different types of scrap metal, including ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
- Operate various industrial equipment, potentially including forklifts or other machinery, after appropriate training and certification.
- Perform visual inspections to ensure the quality and purity of sorted materials.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of materials as required.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production targets and operational efficiency.
