Job Description
Dandenong High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-time Canteen Helper to join our friendly team. This role is perfect for someone looking for consistent day shifts during school hours, aligning perfectly with family commitments or a desire for a balanced work-life schedule. You will play a vital role in providing healthy and delicious food options to our students and staff, contributing to a positive school experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the canteen and kitchen areas.
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately.
- Restock shelves and manage inventory as directed.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service to students and staff.
- Assist with general washing up and tidying tasks.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to handle cash and simple transactions.
- Must hold or be willing to obtain a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
