Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting entry point into the construction industry? Kier Group is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as a Rigger’s Offsider. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with no prior experience to kickstart a rewarding career. As an Offsider, you will work closely with experienced Riggers, learning the ropes of safe lifting operations, equipment handling, and site safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced Riggers in all aspects of lifting and rigging operations.
- Learn and adhere to all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare, inspect, and maintain rigging equipment, including slings, chains, and hoists.
- Clean and organise the work area, ensuring a safe and efficient site.
- Follow instructions diligently and communicate effectively with team members.
- Support the Rigging team with general labouring tasks as required.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Required Skills
- No prior rigging experience required – full training will be provided.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one prior to starting).
- Basic understanding of construction site environments.
- Previous experience in a manual labour role.
