Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Remote Support Expert to join our global support team. This role is crucial for providing advanced technical assistance and high-level problem-solving for Atlassian’s suite of products. You will be responsible for diagnosing complex issues, developing innovative solutions, and guiding customers through intricate technical challenges. This is a 100% remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from your home office in Grafton, NSW, or anywhere within Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level technical support for Atlassian products, diagnosing and resolving complex customer issues through various channels (ticket, chat, video calls).
  • Analyze system logs, error messages, and performance data to identify root causes of problems.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to escalate and resolve critical bugs or feature limitations.
  • Develop and document advanced troubleshooting guides, knowledge base articles, and best practices.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior support engineers, sharing expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical issues outside of standard business hours when required.
  • Proactively identify trends in customer issues and contribute to product improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction by providing professional, empathetic, and efficient support.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical support, DevOps, or system administration role, with a focus on advanced problem-solving.
  • Strong understanding of web application architecture, databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL), and operating systems (Linux, Windows).
  • Proficiency in analyzing logs, stack traces, and system metrics.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and data analysis.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve highly complex technical issues independently.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with network protocols and security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) in an enterprise environment.
  • ITIL certification or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of APIs and RESTful services.
