Job Description

Are you passionate about coding and eager to inspire the next generation of tech talent? Corndel is seeking a dedicated Remote Coding Tutor to join our Junior Tech Mentorship program. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with foundational coding knowledge and a strong desire to mentor and guide junior learners. You will be responsible for providing one-on-one and small group virtual tutoring sessions, helping our mentees understand core programming concepts, problem-solving techniques, and best practices. This role is 100% remote, allowing you to make a significant impact from anywhere in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective remote coding lessons to junior learners via video conferencing.
  • Develop personalized learning plans based on individual mentee needs and program curriculum.
  • Provide constructive feedback on coding assignments and projects.
  • Explain complex coding concepts in an accessible and understandable manner.
  • Monitor mentee progress and adapt teaching methods to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
  • Foster a positive, encouraging, and collaborative learning environment.
  • Stay updated with current coding languages, tools, and best practices relevant to junior tech development.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to curriculum development discussions.
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and mentee progress.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java).
  • Solid understanding of fundamental programming concepts (data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated patience and empathy, with a passion for teaching and mentorship.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup for remote work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring, especially in a technical field.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and remote collaboration tools.
  • Experience working with junior developers or individuals new to coding.
