Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Regional Farm Hands to join our harvest teams across various agricultural operations in the regions surrounding Somerton, Victoria. This temporary role is perfect for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the Australian agricultural sector, particularly those seeking to fulfil regional work requirements for visa extensions (e.g., 88 days of specified work). You will be integral to the success of the harvest season, performing a variety of tasks that contribute directly to the collection and processing of crops. No prior experience is necessary, as full training will be provided, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential. This is an excellent opportunity to work outdoors, learn new skills, and experience the vibrant life of rural Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment under supervision (e.g., tractors, harvesters, irrigation systems)
- Assist with manual labour tasks such as picking, packing, and sorting produce
- Monitor crop health and report any issues to the farm supervisor
- Perform general farm maintenance, including fencing, weeding, and cleaning
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and procedures
- Assist with irrigation setup and monitoring
- Participate in preparation and clean-up activities for various farm operations
- Follow instructions from farm supervisors and work effectively as part of a team
Required Skills
