Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Recycling Sorters at our state-of-the-art facility in Santa Cruz. This is a long-term, full-time opportunity to contribute to environmental sustainability. As a Recycling Sorter, you will play a crucial role in processing recyclable materials, ensuring quality and efficiency in our operations. Key Responsibilities
- Sort recyclable materials on a conveyor belt, separating items by type (e.g., plastics, paper, glass, metals).
- Identify and remove non-recyclable materials and contaminants from the waste stream.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all company safety protocols.
- Operate basic material handling equipment as needed, following proper procedures.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production and quality targets.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify different material types.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all workplace safety guidelines.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Basic communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a recycling facility or similar industrial environment.
