Job Description

Join Monash University’s School of Psychological Sciences as a Psychology Student Intern. This invaluable opportunity is designed for passionate and dedicated psychology students eager to gain practical experience in a dynamic research environment. You will support ongoing research projects, observe various psychological studies, and contribute to data collection and analysis under the guidance of leading academics. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist researchers with data collection, entry, and initial analysis for various psychological studies.
  • Observe and document participant interactions in research settings, ensuring ethical guidelines are followed.
  • Support the preparation of research materials, stimuli, and experimental setups.
  • Conduct literature reviews to inform ongoing projects and potential new research directions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all research activities and data.
  • Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and learning from senior researchers.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required to support the research team.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Psychology or a related field.
  • Strong academic record, particularly in research methods and statistics courses.
  • Excellent observational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical research practices and participant confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R).
  • Previous experience in a research lab setting (academic or volunteer).
  • Interest in specific areas of psychological research (e.g., cognitive, developmental, social, clinical).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
