Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Procurement Analyst to join our Corporate Supply team in Ballarat. In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing our procurement processes, analyzing spending patterns, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across our corporate functions. You will collaborate with various departments, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure the strategic alignment of procurement activities with business objectives, contributing to BHP’s overall operational excellence and value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive spend analysis across various corporate categories to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Develop and maintain procurement reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor performance and compliance.
- Support the sourcing and tendering process by gathering requirements, preparing RFPs, and evaluating supplier proposals.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with corporate strategies.
- Assist in the negotiation of contracts with suppliers, focusing on favorable terms, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor supplier performance against contractual agreements and service level expectations.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the procurement cycle to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of category strategies for corporate services and goods.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at driving continuous improvement and innovation in procurement.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Understanding of procurement principles and best practices.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP Ariba or similar.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
- CIPS certification or progress towards certification.
- Experience in a large-scale corporate or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of Australian procurement regulations and market conditions.
