Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Part-time Site Hand to join our construction team for day shifts in Port Lincoln. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in the construction industry, supporting various site operations and ensuring a safe, efficient working environment. You will be an integral part of our team, assisting skilled trades and maintaining site cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general labouring duties on construction sites, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
- Assist tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) with various tasks as required.
- Maintain a clean and organised construction site, including rubbish removal and material stacking.
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Support site supervisors with logistics and operational tasks.
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of site equipment and temporary structures.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Must possess a valid White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a construction or manual labour role (even if informal).
- Basic first aid certification.
- Drivers licence and reliable transportation.
