Job Description

Join the dynamic team at Woolworths Group as a Paid Intern – Social Media Coordinator! This is an exceptional opportunity for an enthusiastic and aspiring individual to gain hands-on experience in social media management within Australia’s largest retail group. This 100% remote position allows you to contribute from anywhere, being instrumental in supporting our social media team, helping to create engaging content, monitor online conversations, and analyze performance across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of social media content calendars.
  • Draft engaging posts, stories, and other creative content for various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn).
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, mentions, and customer inquiries, escalating as necessary.
  • Help analyze social media performance data to identify insights and opportunities for improvement.
  • Research industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategy.
  • Support the team in community management efforts, engaging with our audience.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, customer service, and product development.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their respective best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creativity and an eye for engaging visual content.
  • Basic analytical skills and willingness to learn data interpretation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Prior experience with social media scheduling or analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Google Analytics) is a plus.
  • A personal portfolio or examples of social media content created (even for personal accounts or student projects).
