Job Description
As an Inventory Specialist – Technical Stock at JB Hi-Fi Campbelltown, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate and efficient management of our technical product inventory. This critical role involves receiving, storing, tracking, and distributing a diverse range of electronic goods, from the latest smartphones and laptops to home entertainment systems. You will play a vital part in maintaining optimal stock levels, minimizing discrepancies, and supporting our sales team to deliver an unparalleled customer experience. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming technical goods, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders.
- Organize and store inventory in designated locations, optimizing space and accessibility.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies, investigating root causes.
- Process outbound shipments, ensuring products are correctly picked, packed, and dispatched.
- Operate inventory management systems to accurately record all stock movements.
- Identify and report damaged, defective, or obsolete stock, initiating appropriate actions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse/stockroom environment.
- Collaborate with sales staff and store management to fulfill customer orders and merchandising needs.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in inventory management, warehousing, or retail stock control.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and handheld scanners.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (within safety guidelines).
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with consumer electronics or technical product inventory.
- Forklift license (LF) or willingness to obtain one.
