Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Incident Response Coordinator to join our team in Wangaratta. In this critical role, you will be responsible for orchestrating our response to security incidents across our diverse transport and logistics operations. You will manage the entire incident lifecycle, from detection and analysis to containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively under pressure. You will play a pivotal role in protecting our assets, data, and operational continuity, directly contributing to the resilience of our global supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate incident response activities, ensuring rapid and effective containment and resolution of security incidents.
  • Develop, maintain, and test incident response plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform initial triage, analysis, and classification of security alerts and incidents.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and business units to gather information, implement corrective actions, and restore services.
  • Communicate incident status, impact, and resolution to relevant stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews, identify root causes, and recommend preventive measures to enhance security posture.
  • Utilize security tools and technologies to monitor for threats, investigate incidents, and support forensic analysis.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior team members and other departments on incident response best practices.
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and mitigation strategies, particularly within the transport sector.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity incident response, security operations, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of incident response frameworks (e.g., NIST, SANS).
  • Proficiency with security information and event management (SIEM) systems, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and other security tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex security incidents and formulate effective response strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, GCIH, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in the transport, logistics, or critical infrastructure industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, APPs, Essential Eight).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and analysis.
  • Knowledge of digital forensics methodologies and tools.
