Job Description

Bluebird Care Ipswich is seeking dedicated In-Home Support Assistants to provide essential care and companionship to elderly individuals in their homes across Ipswich and the surrounding areas. No prior experience is necessary as full, comprehensive training will be provided, ensuring you have all the skills and confidence needed to excel in this rewarding role. Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including assistance with washing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with medication reminders and administration, following care plans.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and assist with feeding where necessary.
- Undertake light household duties, such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying.
- Offer companionship and engage in activities to promote well-being and reduce isolation.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and use of mobility aids.
- Run errands, grocery shopping, and accompany clients to appointments.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company policies.
Required Skills
- Genuine desire to help and care for elderly individuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate nature.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK Driving License and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred, but not essential).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care setting (e.g., as a Carer, Support Worker, or Volunteer) is a bonus but not required.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable.
- First Aid certification.
