Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic HR Generalist Intern to join our Corporate HR Support team in Newcastle. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across various HR functions within a dynamic professional services environment. You will support the HR team in day-to-day operations, contributing to projects that enhance employee experience, support talent management, and ensure HR compliance. This role is perfect for a student or recent graduate eager to kickstart their career in Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Support HR operations by maintaining employee records and updating HR databases accurately.
- Help prepare HR-related documents, such as offer letters, new hire paperwork, and policy communications.
- Participate in onboarding activities for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
- Conduct research on HR best practices, industry trends, and compliance requirements.
- Provide administrative support to the HR team, including managing calendars and coordinating meetings.
- Contribute to HR projects focused on employee engagement, learning & development, or diversity & inclusion.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an office environment or customer service role.
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) platforms.
- Understanding of basic HR principles and labor laws.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
