Job Description

Are you passionate about the startup ecosystem and eager to help innovative founders succeed? Telstra is seeking a dedicated Founder Support Specialist to join our team in Mackay. In this pivotal role, you will be the primary point of contact for tech startup founders, providing comprehensive operational, strategic, and administrative support. You will play a crucial part in guiding them through their journey, connecting them with vital resources, and ensuring they have the tools and insights needed to scale. Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for startup founders within our programs, offering guidance and support.
  • Facilitate introductions to mentors, investors, industry experts, and Telstra's internal teams.
  • Organise and manage workshops, networking events, and pitch sessions for startup participants.
  • Assist founders with operational challenges, including legal, finance, marketing, and HR queries.
  • Monitor startup progress, identify potential roadblocks, and proactively offer solutions or resources.
  • Collect feedback from founders to continuously improve support programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of startup interactions and progress.
  • Collaborate with internal Telstra teams to leverage resources and create synergistic opportunities for startups.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in startup operations, program management, or founder relations.
  • Strong understanding of the tech startup lifecycle and common challenges faced by founders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience working within an accelerator, incubator, or venture capital firm.
  • Familiarity with the Australian tech ecosystem, including key players and trends.
  • Experience in community building or event management within a tech context.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to support.
