Job Description
Are you a student looking for flexible, engaging part-time work in a fun environment? Event Cinemas in Innisfail is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Event Ushers to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals who love movies, enjoy interacting with people, and are available for shifts across evenings and weekends. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our patrons have a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience from the moment they step into our cinema or theatre.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and direct guests to their seats and screening rooms.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of auditoriums, lobbies, and restrooms before, during, and after screenings.
- Assist guests with queries, provide information about screenings, and resolve minor issues.
- Enforce cinema policies regarding outside food/drink, recording devices, and age restrictions.
- Monitor auditoriums during screenings to ensure guest comfort and address any disturbances.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setting up and packing down event spaces.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or incidents to management promptly.
- Support the wider cinema team as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

- Ability to stand, walk, and lift light items for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is a plus, but not essential.
- Enthusiasm for film, live theatre, or the entertainment industry.
- Currently enrolled in a high school or tertiary education program.
