Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Nurses to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves providing acute care to patients presenting with a wide range of urgent medical conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the Emergency Department.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations, including resuscitations and trauma cases.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical practitioners.
- Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to interventions.
- Document patient care accurately and comprehensively.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient management.
- Provide clear and compassionate communication to patients and their families.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in an Emergency Department setting
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centred care
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in Emergency Nursing or related field
- Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Experience with electronic health records systems
