Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Licensed Conveyancer to join our Property & Real Estate team in Geelong. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is passionate about property law and dedicated to providing outstanding client service. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of residential and commercial conveyancing matters from inception to completion, working closely with clients, real estate agents, and financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a high volume caseload of residential and commercial conveyancing matters, including sales and purchases.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, Section 32 statements, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct thorough property searches and title investigations.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, real estate agents, financial institutions, and other parties involved in transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant conveyancing legislation and regulations in Victoria.
  • Prepare and manage settlement statements and related financial adjustments.
  • Coordinate and attend settlements, both in person and electronically.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients throughout the conveyancing process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and records.

Required Skills

  • Current Conveyancer's Licence in Victoria, Australia.
  • Minimum of 3 years' post-licence experience in conveyancing.
  • Thorough knowledge of Victorian conveyancing law, practices, and procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage a full conveyancing caseload independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in conveyancing software (e.g., PEXA, LEAP).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional client service and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with complex property transactions or subdivisions.
  • Prior experience working within a larger legal firm environment.
  • A track record of continuous professional development in conveyancing.
