Job Description

Are you a hard worker with a can-do attitude looking to kick-start a career in the construction industry? Boral is seeking dedicated Concreter’s Assistants to join our dynamic team in Mount Isa. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals who are physically fit, reliable, and eager to learn the trade from experienced professionals. You’ll be involved in all aspects of concrete preparation, pouring, and finishing, contributing to vital projects across the region. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced concreters with the mixing, pouring, spreading, and finishing of concrete.
  • Prepare sites by clearing debris, setting up formwork, and ensuring proper base preparation.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Transport and carry materials such as cement bags, aggregates, and tools.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines diligently.
  • Learn and apply concreting techniques under supervision.
  • Perform general labouring duties as required.

  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual labour.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • Basic understanding of English for communication and safety instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Construction Induction White Card (mandatory for site access in Australia – can be obtained upon commencement).
  • Current C-Class driver's license and reliable transport.
  • Previous experience in manual labour or outdoor work is a plus, but not essential.
  • First Aid certificate.
