Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Care Offsider to join our team in Ulverstone. This rewarding role involves providing essential support to individuals in their homes and communities, enabling them to maintain independence and enhance their quality of life. As a Community Care Offsider, you will travel to various client locations, assisting with daily tasks and providing companionship. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care assistance, including showering, dressing, and grooming, respecting client dignity and privacy.
  • Assist clients with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Perform light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Support clients with medication reminders and supervision.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities and outings.
  • Assist with grocery shopping and other errands.
  • Accurately document client care and report any changes in condition or concerns.
  • Adhere to individualised care plans and Anglicare Tasmania's policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Capacity to perform physical tasks, including lifting and bending, in a safe manner.
  • Successful completion of a National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People Check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Disability, or Home and Community Care).
  • Previous experience in a community care or support worker role.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and services.
  • Proficiency in using care management software.
