Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Civil Engineering Tech to join our dynamic infrastructure projects team on the Sunshine Coast. This role involves supporting civil engineers in the design, documentation, and delivery of a wide range of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, water supply systems, and urban developments. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to quality and efficiency in project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering designs, drawings, and specifications using CAD software.
  • Conduct site investigations, surveys, and data collection to inform project design.
  • Perform calculations and analyses for various civil engineering components.
  • Prepare technical reports, memos, and other project documentation.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
  • Support construction supervision and quality assurance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of project schedules and cost estimates.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid Australian Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS).
  • Familiarity with local Australian design standards and regulations.
  • Previous experience in a consulting engineering environment.
