Job Description
Australia Post is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Casual Posties to join our team for day shifts in Penrith. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy being outdoors, staying active, and connecting with their local community. As a Casual Postie, you will be responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of mail and parcels, ensuring our customers receive their important items promptly and safely. We offer comprehensive training, a supportive team environment, and the opportunity to play a key role in connecting the Penrith community.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort mail and parcels accurately for delivery routes.
- Efficiently deliver mail and parcels to residential and business addresses within the Penrith area.
- Operate delivery vehicles (motorcycle, electric delivery vehicle, or van) safely and responsibly.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and traffic regulations.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service during deliveries.
- Handle undeliverable items according to company policy.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area and vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Australian driver's license (C-class for van, R-class for motorcycle preferred or willing to obtain).
- Ability to ride a motorcycle or electric delivery vehicle, or drive a van safely.
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle repetitive lifting, carrying, and walking.
- Strong reliability and punctuality.
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with the Penrith local area or ability to learn quickly.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or logistics role.
- Knowledge of local Penrith streets and geography.
- Experience operating a motorcycle for delivery purposes.
