Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Canteen Assistant, playing a vital role in providing delicious food and excellent service to our patrons during day shifts. This part-time position offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a lively sports club environment, contributing to the positive experience of our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including snacks, light meals, and drinks.
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the canteen area, kitchen, and dining spaces.
- Restock supplies, manage inventory, and assist with ordering.
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service.
- Assist with setting up and packing down for events or special functions.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor issues promptly and politely.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in a canteen, cafe, or fast-food environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for cash handling.
- Strong attention to detail regarding hygiene and cleanliness.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food Safety Certificate (e.g., NSW Food Safety Supervisor).
- Experience operating a commercial coffee machine.
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification (if serving alcohol).
- First Aid certification.
