Job Description
Join the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as a Seasonal Community Support Assistant in our Tax Help program. This is a vital temporary role based in Redcliffe, QLD, supporting local community members with their tax return lodgments. You will gain valuable experience in a government-backed community service initiative, helping individuals navigate the tax system with confidence. This role offers the chance to make a tangible difference in people’s lives by providing direct, practical assistance during the tax season. Comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and confidential assistance to eligible individuals lodging their tax returns using ATO-provided software.
- Help clients understand their tax obligations and entitlements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax law and ATO procedures relevant to the Tax Help program.
- Ensure all client interactions are conducted with professionalism, empathy, and respect.
- Manage appointments and client inquiries efficiently.
- Refer complex cases to appropriate ATO resources or qualified professionals.
- Adhere strictly to ATO confidentiality and privacy guidelines.
