Job Description

Are you a budding app developer eager to kickstart your career in mobile solutions? REA Group is seeking a passionate and driven Junior App Developer to join our dynamic team in Glenorchy, Tasmania. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, testing, and deployment of mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following established coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with the team.
  • Debug and resolve issues and bugs reported by users or identified during testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, QA) to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile technology trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools.
  • Document technical specifications and application functionalities.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in at least one modern mobile development language (e.g., Swift/Objective-C for iOS, Kotlin/Java for Android).
  • Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and design guidelines.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Basic understanding of API integration and consuming RESTful services.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a logical approach to development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for mobile technology and building intuitive user experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with cross-platform frameworks like React Native or Flutter.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • A portfolio showcasing personal mobile app projects or contributions.
  • Understanding of database concepts and mobile data storage (e.g., SQLite, Realm).
