Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Aircraft Technicians specializing in Avionics to join our maintenance team in Penrith, NSW. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of complex avionic systems across our diverse fleet. Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft avionic systems and components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, electronic, and instrument system malfunctions.
- Conduct repairs, modifications, and overhauls of avionic equipment in accordance with regulatory standards and company procedures.
- Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Complete accurate documentation of all maintenance activities and repairs.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and airworthiness regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to ensure efficient aircraft turnaround times.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs.
Required Skills
- Valid CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) Licence – Avionics.
- Proven experience as an Avionics Technician in an aviation maintenance environment.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft electrical, electronic, and instrument systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific aircraft types in the Qantas fleet (e.g., Boeing 737, Airbus A330/A380).
- Additional certifications or endorsements for specialized avionic systems.
- Formal training or qualifications in advanced electronics or avionics.
- Experience working in a line or base maintenance environment.
