Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Social Media Moderator & Support specialist. This is a unique opportunity for students or anyone looking for flexible, non-voice work to engage with our online communities. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive and respectful online environment across our various social media channels and digital platforms. Your primary responsibilities will involve reviewing user-generated content, responding to inquiries through text-based communication, and ensuring compliance with community guidelines. This role requires excellent written communication skills and a keen eye for detail, with no phone-based customer interaction required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor user-generated content across various social media platforms and forums to ensure adherence to community guidelines.
  • Approve, reject, or edit content as necessary, providing constructive feedback when appropriate.
  • Engage with the online community through text-based responses to comments, messages, and inquiries.
  • Identify and report trends in user feedback and content to relevant internal teams.
  • Assist in the management of online campaigns and community events.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior moderators or support staff as needed.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all community policies and guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in written English with excellent grammar and spelling.
  • Strong understanding and active use of various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with online tools.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive content.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a university or college program.
  • Previous experience in online community management or content moderation (even voluntary).
  • Familiarity with News Corp Australia brands and content.
  • Understanding of digital safety and online etiquette best practices.
