Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and evaluate emergency and non-emergency calls from the public with empathy and professionalism.
  • Accurately gather critical information from callers, often in high-stress situations.
  • Provide clear, concise, and accurate pre-arrival instructions to callers, including first aid advice.
  • Prioritise and dispatch ambulance resources efficiently to ensure timely responses.
  • Maintain accurate records of all calls and dispatches using various computer systems.
  • Communicate effectively with paramedics, other emergency services, and healthcare professionals.
  • Adhere to all operational policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Participate actively in ongoing training and professional development programs.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional verbal communication skills, including active listening and clear articulation.
  • Proven ability to remain calm, composed, and focused under pressure and during critical incidents.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and quick decision-making capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service or call centre environment.
  • Familiarity with the Albury region's geography and road networks.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
