Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and physically fit Cable Layer Labourers to join our team in Kalgoorlie. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential telecommunications infrastructure projects, working Monday to Friday with competitive pay. You will be an integral part of a crew responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing underground and overhead cabling, ensuring the reliable delivery of communication services. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for individuals looking to start or advance their career in the civil or telecommunications industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the laying of telecommunication cables (copper and fibre optic) in trenches, conduits, and overhead structures.
- Perform manual labour tasks including digging, shovelling, and trenching.
- Operate various hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Support skilled technicians and supervisors on site.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, site rules, and quality standards.
- Assist with the preparation and restoration of work sites, including backfilling and site clean-up.
- Load and unload materials and equipment.
- Conduct pre-start checks on vehicles and equipment as required.
- Work collaboratively within a team to achieve project deadlines and objectives.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.

- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Australian C-class Driver's Licence.
- Construction Induction White Card (essential for site entry, but can be obtained with assistance).
- Experience operating small plant equipment (e.g., trenchers, excavators) is a plus but not required.
- Previous experience in civil construction, labouring, or telecommunications infrastructure is advantageous.
- First Aid certification.
